Drag Battle – The Settlement

What’s all that noise? Where are all those cars going? What the h- Oh… it’s those racers again. Yup, it’s us racers again. You’d think the rain would stop us from racing right? Wrong. We’re into cars, which proves that normal human logic is already far beyond our realm of understanding. We’re back on the base for yet another one of Time Line’s Drag Battle events and it would seem that they just keep on getting bigger and bigger. Pretty soon we might just need… oh I don’t know, our own track maybe.

Prime Minister Allen Chastanet, I know you’re watching.

We were once again treated to an event jam packed with a variety of vehicles, from new to old, SUVs to coupes, just about anything you could think of minus a semi truck was lined up against the lights as drivers came to test their reaction times, their skills and the might of their machines on the drag strip that to many of us is almost like a second home.

This time around we were witness to a few new faces to the 1320 such as Rio with his blue resurrection of the R33 GTS25t once long ago known as Wanted, Kyanni with his recently landed Audi S3 and a racing veteran Gus taking the rarely seen and almost mythical PC400 plated R32 GTR for a few short but quick walks down the track.

Although the heavy rains of the day did manage to put things on pause now and then, it wasn’t enough to call an end to the day until everyone was good and done. Through each dry period onlookers poured out of their shelter and racers stormed back onto the track, flooding the area with the sweet, sweet sound of internal combustion again as racing was back underway.

Time and time again, with each successful event, the crowds and participants grow. Without a doubt, nothing will stop us from racing, or the sport from growing. Dumping dirt or seaweed on the track? Didn’t stop a thing. Negative minds claiming racing is dead? Nope, still racing. Bad weather? Not a care in the world.

The car culture will never die.
